Each freeroll tournament has a “base” prize pool of $2,000; but, once the event has got underway, an extra “wild” amount is added up to $18,000.
What is unique about the added prize money is the way in which it is distributed. For example, if the top “wild” $18,000 amount is added to the prize pool, the players occupying places 1 to 9 at the end of the tournament each receive $500 in cash. The remainder of the added prize money is distributed among players occupying places 10 to 100 ($50 each) and places 101 to 1,000 ($10 each).
Qualifying for a Wild Surprise Freeroll Tournament
In order to qualify for a Wild Surprise freeroll tournament ticket, you first have to opt into the promotion via the poker client or via an email sent to you by 888 Poker. Once you have opted in, there is a choice of three missions to complete. They consist of:
- Win ten NL Hold´em cash game hands at the minimum stake of $0.02/$0.05. The winning hands do not have to go to showdown to count as a win, but at least four players must be dealt into the hand.
- Play in Sit & Go games, MTT tournaments, and BLAST games with buy-ins totaling $8.00 or more. You can mix and match games as you wish, but re-buys do not count towards completing the mission.
- Place ten bets at 888 Poker´s in-client casino. Each bet must be for $1.00 or more, but the site has not excluded any specific casino games from the qualifying criteria (so $1.00 on red, $1.00 on black – thank you very much).
